Embassy embarks on another year of competitive motorsport with plenty to look forward to in 2008. Namely, it is our first year as constructors in the LMS and after months of planning and preparation our WF01 prototypes will take to the track in April for the first round of the series in Barcelona. With competing factory teams from the likes of Porsche, Aston Martin, Audi and Peugeot who will go head to head in the LMP1 series, the 2008 season promises to be a tough one, but one that will make every success we have along the way even more rewarding. One highlight we are all looking forward to this year will be the exciting prospect of competing in one of the oldest and most prestigious motor races in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans race which will be held in June.
Driving for us in the fiercely competitive LMP2 class will be Warren Hughes, Johnny Kane, Joey Foster and Mario Haberfield.
Regulated by the ACO the field is split into four categories:
LMP1 - Prototype sportscars featuring the highest level of tuning, engine and chassis developments as allowed by the Series regulators. Often supported or fully operated by auto manufacturers.
LMP2 - Prototype sportscars featuring slightly lower specification development enhancements as laid out by the regulations.
LMGT1 - Production based sportscars with the highest level of tuning, engine and chassis developments as allowed by the Series regulators. Often supported or fully operated by auto manufacturers.
LMGT2 - Production based sportscars featuring slightly lower specification development enhancements as laid out by the regulations.
Five races make up the LMS calendar in 2008, each race run over 1,000 kilometres on European race circuits including Spa, Monza, the Nurburgring and Silverstone.
All cars will start each race simultaneously but are classified separately according to the category they are entered in. This format makes for some diverse and intense racing with many overtaking manoeuvres. Points are only allocated for placings in each class. Championship titles are awarded for drivers, manufacturers and teams of each of the four competing classes.

Embassy Racing continues its expansion on the two wheel front for 2008. With factory support from Triumph, Embassy will be competing in the BSB setup for the second successive year at twelve of the UK’s top racing circuits.
Embassy Triumph will compete two Daytona 675’s in the Supersport class ridden by Aussies Paul Young and the returning Glen Richards. The Supersport series is expected to be a fiercely fought championship that many feel will eclipse the Superbike title race this season. The team will also be competing another 675 in the Superstock class, to be ridden by South African youngster AJ Venter.
Expectations are high then as we look to build on the success of last year. All riders will be supported by our growing team of dedicated moto personnel.
