Embassy Racing are pleased to announced that Darren Manning will return to the fold to drive one of the team’s WF01s for the final two rounds of the 2008 Le Mans Series at Nurburgring on the 17th of August and Silverstone on 14th of September.

Darren, who was a regular with us in 2007 when he partnered Warren Hughes in the team’s Judd powered Radical, was in the running for a permanent seat for this year until it emerged that his commitments for AJ Foyt in the US Indycar Series clashed with too many of the European based Le Mans Series races.
Re-joining Embassy on the back of his best ever Indycar result, a second place finish at Watkins Glen, Darren clearly brings even more strength in depth to our driver line-up and will provide a healthy boost of professionalism as well as good humour to the team.
Talking about the deal, Team Principal Jonathan France said:
“I was a little disappointed at the start of the year when it became obvious that Darren would not be in our line-up for the whole of 2008. I knew that there were no clashes for the final two rounds and as things were working out I knew we would need an additional driver for Nurburgring and Silverstone. As a result, I have been working in the background for some time to ensure Darren was with us for Germany and the UK rounds. I am delighted to have secured his services and feel it will give us the best opportunity yet to get the WF01 on the podium. I have a great deal of respect for Darren, he is a prodigious talent and this is shining through in the States, I am hopeful our good fortune in signing him will translate into at least a little good fortune on the track which has so obviously deserted us so far this year.”
