30.05.08 The road to Le Mans starts here

Embassy Racing embarked on the journey to Le Mans this week as preparation for one of the most prestigious motor races in the world got under way in earnest.

WF01 Car 45

After the setback the two cars suffered in Spa the team have been working around the clock to have car 45 in it’s best possible shape to take to Le Mans.

Things got off to a less than Le Mans glamorous start with drivers Warren Hughes, Joey Foster and Jonny Kane testing car 45 at Snetterton on Wednesday, but from there the trucks, car and team head straight to France and on to Le Mans in time for the official test day on Sunday.

Jody Firth

Team Manager Jody Firth gave his thoughts on the team’s preparations

“Firstly I can’t praise the team enough for working so hard to get us in such a great position for Le Mans. After Spa, people were pretty down as you would expect but it is relatively easy to motivate people when they are working on a car that will compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans.

We are now at the stage we wanted to be regardless of Spa and confident we have the best car we can possibly take to France. The test at Snetterton went as planned without any great dramas and the team is now excited and motivated for the race. For some of them it is the first time in such a race, whilst others have been there and seen it all before but I’m sure their hunger is just the same. Everyone knows that Le Mans is probably the hardest race in the world and we will all have to be on top of our games which we will be.”
