26.04.08 Embassy to start 10th and 11th in Monza

The qualifying session for the second round of the Le Mans Series 1000 kilometres of Monza took place this afternoon (Saturday 26th April) in wonderful conditions. With both our cars improving on yesterday’s times in this morning’s free practice, the team was looking forward to putting in some quick laps during the session in an effort to start tomorrow’s race as high up the grid as possible.

The session presented no drama for either car, and Jonny and Warren both went faster than they had in free practice.Good though the times were, the competition is fierce and other teams improved on their times which meant the best we could do was 10th for the 46 car and 11th for the 45 car.

Still, the plus points are that the car is showing good signs of reliability and both have excellent race pace, so as the 1000km unfolds the team is still confident that during a six hour race we have most of what we need to challenge for a podium. We’ll know more tomorrow!
