17.08.08 Tantalizingly close to first podium

At last the hard work pays off as Embassy records a double best ever WF01 finish in a Le Mans Series race at the Nurburgring. The 45 car of Warren and Jonny overcame a few minor niggles to finish seventh, while the 46 car of Darren and Joey took the chequered flag in 4th place, just seconds away from the team’s first podium.

WF01 46

An almost faultless race in every respect, the cars were fast, reliable and handled everything the 5km Eiffel Mountain Circuit could throw at them; the drivers were impeccable, professional and in control; the strategy was the epitome of mathematical precision and the team performed their individual tasks and more with enthusiasm and accuracy that was a joy to witness.

Team Principal Jonathan France said:

It has been a fantastic race for us. We had the pace to mix it at the front of the LMP2 class all the way to the end and even with a few laps remaining we felt we could still push on for the podium. It was totally enthralling - a brilliant race and I am delighted for the whole team that we have finally achieved the results we knew we were capable of.
