09.09.08 Croft Preview

With only three rounds left to go in the British Supersport and Superstock series this really is make or break time in the season. The team will be heading to Croft in the next few days to begin our preparations for the next round of the season.

The focus this weekend will be on Glen, as he bids to take another step closer to the British Supersport Championship with another podium finish at Croft. Glen sits 37 points clear at the top of the championship closely followed by Hudson Kennaugh on the Raceways Yamaha who goes into Croft off the back of a stellar performance in the World Supersport championships at Donington last weekend.

Glen spoke of the weekend ahead

“Everyone knows what is at stake now and it is all about scoring points for me at this stage of the year. I’m in a great position and if I can get podiums then great but the main thing for me now is staying on the bike and getting some points added to that total.

My main concern this weekend will be the sudden change in weather that has crept up on us. It seems that it has hit the whole country which could make for some interesting riding at Croft but I am looking forward to it. This is what riding is all about.”

There will also be pressure on Junior Superstock rider AJ Venter this weekend as he bids to put in a good performance in the Superstock 600 Championship that will hopefully see him edge closer to top spot from his current position of third. AJ knows that strong performances in the next three rounds will only strengthen his bid to be the team’s second Supersport rider next year.

Paul Yong will also be looking for three strong performances as he comes to the end of his contract with Embassy. The experienced rider has spoke of his desire to finish the season on high after a great ride at Cadwell Park last time out.

“I hope I can finish my time with Embassy with as close to, if not 3 wins. For myself, and the whole team.”
