In his only free practice session AJ venter looked to be struggliing, posting, by his own admission a dissapointing 12th fastest time.

AJ Venter 39

"I wasn't hapy with the setup and hopefully we can resolve that by the qualifying session. I need to be on the front row or there abouts."

Later in the day in his first qualifying session AJ pulled out a cracking last lap to set the 6th fastest time after he was lagging back in 10th. The ride showed AJ's hot cold and cold streaks so far this year. AJ even has a new helmet to motivate him for this round.

"On one side of my helmet i've got stars to show the potential superstar race that I know I can ride and then the other side has flowers and butterflys on it to remind me not to ride like a girl - like I did at knockhill. Hopefully I can get stars on both sides pretty soon."
