The Map Embassy Supersport riders had a good day at the office in their qualifying sessions at Mallory Park today (Saturday 28th June). Local lad Glen Richards put the Triumph in pole position whilst Paul Young claimed a top 10 spot with 9th.
In the first session Glen was on it from the off, holding on to P1 throughout, whilst Youngy seemed a little off the pace at his home circuit, ending the session in 14th. However, in the second session Paul looked a completely different rider, keeping consistently in the top 10 and he was unlucky to lose 8th spot on the last lap of the session to Steven Neate of Gearlink Kawasaki and had to settle for a respectable 9th.
Glen Richards spoke of the qualifying session and of tomorrow’s race
“I feel good, the bikes fantastic and I know the track so well it’s all there for the taking tomorrow. It’s a tough pack of riders in the top 10 but im confident of good performance in tomorrow’s race proper.”
