24.08.08 Glen in pole position at Cadwell

We told you this qualifying session was far from over!

After the disappointing session that Paul and Glen participated in in the wet this morning, finishing 20th and 10th respectively, the guys were delighted with their performance in the second session as Glen clinched pole and Youngy fourth to round off a great day for the team – despite both riders crashing during the session.

Glen wheelie at Cadwell

Glen was first to fall but both bike and rider were ok if not a little shaken. Glen set the pace early on and managed to fend off decent lap times from the likes of Hudson Kennaugh and Steve Plater. Paul seemed intensely focused around the mountain track and got up to second until he fell with five minutes left to go in the session, unable to do anything about it he quickly slipped to 4th but it is still a fantastic result for Paul and had we not been at Cadwell park this weekend it would have been the first time that the team had two riders on the front row this year but as we are at Cadwell, the narrow track means that the front row of the grid consists of three riders only but it still makes for a mouth-watering day in tomorrow’s Bank Holiday race.

Paul Young at Cadwell

Glen will have tough competition tomorrow with Steve Plater and Hudson Kennaugh joining the Map Embassy rider on the front row but in more welcome news for championship leader Ian Lowry of Rlentless Suzuki who has been showing fantastic form of late is way back in 15th position.

Glen Richards spoke after the session

“I’m really looking forward to tomorrow now. It’ll be tough with Hudson and Steve there, and not to mention Youngy right behind me but the job is only half done, there is plenty of work to be done tomorrow in front of a large Cadwell crowd.“
